Bound for New York
This is exactly the time it took for the ten crew on Groupama 3 to sail from Lisbon to New York.

Setting out from the Portuguese capital on 24th June, the current transatlantic record holder is now alongside in Gateway Marina in Brooklyn, quietly tied up between the trimarans Sodebo and Banque Populaire.

Contacted by telephone, Fred Le Peutrec, boat manager on Groupama 3 had this to say: "We're incredibly happy to have made it into port with a boat in tip-top condition. The last day was a difficult one though. After the fog, we were treated to some big stormy squalls accompanied by thunder and lightning. The wind increased to 40 knots and was shifting every which way. We went through the entire sail wardrobe and then ended up under just the mainsail with two reefs. Groupama 3 has been washed down as well as tidied and now we're all keen to enjoy a good beer and devour a good steak before we take a hot shower and find a bed which won't move!"
