Groupama 3 on its way to Cadiz
|
| The maxi trimaran Groupama 3 left its base of Lorient this morning, heading to Cadiz in Spain. |

Early birds, Groupama 3 crew members released the dock line just before 9am. Franck Cammas and his men will have to cover
1 100 miles to reach the Spanish port. Nearly two days at sea considering current weather conditions over Bay of Biscay and
along the Iberian coast.
From March 26th, Groupama 3 will be standing by in Puerto Sherry Marina (in front of Cadiz)
for its first record attempt. Franck and his nine crew members will attempt the Columbus Route record (Cadiz - San Salvador).
Time to beat: 9 days, 13 hours, 31 minutes and 12 seconds, record held by the American Steve Fossett since February 2003.
