Launching of Groupama 3: everyone talks about it
|
| While Groupama 3 hit the water for its first time, main actors of the construction shared their impressions. |

"He who dares wins. It is for sure Franck's motto. A motto shared by our Group, for which oceanic racing represent
the perfect parallel to our daily actions. Engagement, innovation and controlled risk are the basis of our foundation. As
the tradition says, be the wind in their favour, carrying high and far out our colours." Jean-Luc Baucherel, Chairman
of Groupama "Multiplast has been involved for 25 years in large multihulls construction for oceanic racing.
Being chosen by a world leader in offshore racing to build their prototype - 6th boat over 105'/31,5m built by us - is a recognition
of our expertise. We are proud of this collaboration." Gilles Ollier, Director of Multiplast boatyard
"If
being a witness of Groupama trimarans successive improvements is a privilege, designing them is a unique experience. We want
to thank everyone involved in the project. They are the one allowing sailing to become an ocean of dreams and challenges.
Groupama 3 is a combination of technology and aesthetic, at the service of the sporting discipline. Long life to maxi trimaran
Groupama 3!" Vincent Lauriot Prevost / Marc Van Peteghem, Groupama trimarans architects
"The
launch is a symbolic step, halfway down the road leading to the big adventure on board Groupama 3 and the preparation for
the round the world. The Multiplast team fulfilled our expectations and the pillars of the team did a professional job. Taking
part in this technological and human adventure is a real pleasure. I am very proud of what has been accomplished and confident
in the future." Stéphane Guilbaud, Groupama trimarans team manager
"To see Groupama 3 hitting the
water for its first time, it is like hearing the first cries of a new born baby. Everyone involved in its construction, from
near or far, happily enjoys this great moment. As you can see, Groupama 3 is a beautiful boat. Many thanks to VPLP architects,
Multiplast boatyard, Team Groupama and mainly to Groupama which have been sharing the adventure with us for almost 10 years
now. We are currently heading under motor to our home port of Lorient, where mast and sails are waiting for us." Franck
Cammas, Groupama trimarans skipper
