Groupama 3

On December 2004, building on their previous sporting and human success, Groupama and Franck Cammas launched the construction of a 105 foot maxi trimaran, Groupama 3, a true technologic and sporting challenge.

Groupama 3 is the world's widest sailing boat, with a ratio weight/power superior to the maxi multihulls already existing.

Inspired from the actual ORMA multihulls, particularly its young brother Groupama 2, Groupama 3 will be the first multihull equipped with foils going into the Southern Ocean.

"We chose a shorter boat but easier to handle. In the record breaking program, there is of course the Jules Verne Trophy, but there will also be other record attempts and surely, one day, some regattas. It was clear for us that having a boat easier to handle was the good option."
Vincent Lauriot Pévost

Groupama 2

Christened on June 26th 2004, and the most recent 60' multihull on the circuit, Groupama 2 raced for the first time two months later at the Fécamp Grand Prix.

24 races, 21 podiums, and 18 first positions, of which 14 during Grand Prix: since it hit the water, Groupama 2 is impressive!

At the helm of his Van Peteghem - Lauriot Prévost design, Franck Cammas raced on 83 legs and won 61 of them, a success rate of more than 73 %.
