Tanguy Cariou

A Fine strategist

Trained along Olympic lines, Tanguy Cariou has a great deal of expertise in 470. With his teammate, Gildas Philippe, they were successively 1998 world champions, 2000 world vice-champions and European champions before taking part in the Olympic Games the same year... A rigorous and versatile athlete, Tanguy also has a great deal of multihull and Match-Racing experience.

Crewing for Franck Cammas on Groupama from 2001 to 2004, and also during the last 2006 Grand Prix, the Douarnenez inhabitant was responsible for tactics. A strategic post requiring a firm command of the racing area as well as a good ability to adapt.

Throughout these years, Tanguy also lent his talents to the Défis Français for the America's Cup. As he did in Valencia, where the Breton was one of the key elements of the rear cell of the America tricolour class, Areva Challenge.
