Six seasons on FigaroBorn to a sporting and travelling family, Romain has a very early taste of adventure. He devotes all his summers to sailing
and develops his taste for the open ocean during the training courses in the sailing school of Les Glénans. After two years
of sport studies at the High Level Sailing School of Paimpol, Romain decides to become a professional sailor.
Following
a participation in the mini-transat in 1999, Romain applies himself full time to the Figaro circuit for over 5 years, from
2000 to 2005 -the flagship series for all sailors wishing to sharpen their single-handed sailing skills. 3rd in the 2004 Transat
AG2r with Nicolas Berenger, Romain wins the race in 2006 with Erwan Tabarly on the Cannes-Istanbul Vakko Odyssey.
Strengthened
by his six seasons on Figaro, Romain is sought out by Michel Desjoyeaux to come on board his 60-foot multihull as navigator.
It is this same post he will occupy alongside Franck Cammas during the AS Lease Challenge.
