Marseille Boat Show

Franck Cammas, true to his origins
With Franck Cammas as figurehead, the Marseille Boat Show will open its doors this Saturday March 10th in La Ciotat. For nine days, it will be a real outflow of onshore and offshore innovations, meetings and creative animations.

A special rendezvous for Franck Cammas

Winner of the four last Grand Prix held in Marseille, the skipper of Groupama trimarans is a child of the neighbourhood. Born in Aix-en-Provence, he even started his exceptional maritime career in Marseille: "I made my first tacks in the Old Port at UNM. I was ten and I discovered sailing on an Optimist! Then I learned on a 420 at the Pointe Rouge Yacht Club. In 1999, for the first Multihull Grand Prix in Marseille, it was a funny feeling to come back here with a trimaran; I knew the area sailing on dinghies!"

The Boat Show will be inaugurated this morning at 11:30am by Jean-Claude Gaudin, President of the Urban Community of Marseille Provence Métropole, and Frank Cammas, figurehead of the event.

Animations for all

Many activities will be held during these nine days for the 40 000 visitors expected at the Bassin des Capucins. With themes as sports, culture, maritime heritage, environment, and conferences and meetings, there is something for everyone, including the little ones!
