| A keen skier and a fan of alpine sports, Franck Cammas usually shares his winter between Brittany and the summits. Present
last week in Avoriaz for the "Mer et Montagne" Trophy, the skipper of Groupama trimarans will be at Les Saisies Ski Resort
from Sunday to take part in the event organized by Eric Loizeau.

The "Mer et Montagne" Trophy event in Avoriaz as opening
Each year, sailors and mountaineers meet in Avoriaz at the "Portes du Soleil" domain for a week of intensive sport, festivities
and debates.
This year again, the adventure and the outdoor were honored. Sport wise: slalom, ski touring, descents on
snow "blokart" or ascent with climbing skins to spend a night in refuge were part of this week of oxygenation. Unfortunately,
the slalom cup "Coupe de France des Marins" which usually takes place during this week had to be cancelled because of bad
weather conditions. It is indeed under the rain that the sailors' stay at the mountain ended.
Yvan Zedda exhibits
in Avoriaz
Taking the opportunity of having sailors in their ski resort, the Tourism Board of Avoriaz presented an
exhibition of Yvan Zedda, official photographer of the Groupama trimarans. Thus, tourists and locals could view a sample of
the exhibition presented in St-Malo at the start of the Route du Rhum: about 20 black and white photographs honoring solo
sailors and recalling 10 years of report for the photographer.

Franck comes to defend his title at Les Saises Ski Resort"The "Mer et Montagne" Trophy is a team event. Each team is composed by a renowned sailor and mountaineer, and a youngster
from the host ski resort. Composition of teams is decided by names drawn out of a hat on the first day and they stay together
for four sporting days." This concept, thought by Eric Loizeau 14 years ago, is still each year growing in popularity.
Previously
held at the ski resorts of Angles, Orres, Risoul, Aussois and Champagny-en-Vanoise, it is now the turn of Les Saisies Ski
Resort in Savoie to welcome the "Mer et Montagne" Trophy. From January 29th to February 1st 2007, 4 days of sporting events
and 45 competitors expected for this 14th edition. On the programme: trans station ski event, cross country derby, giant slalom,
sky race (timed ascent with climbing skins), alpine ski and the discovery of optimists on toboggans, a local specialty!
Familiar with this event, Franck Cammas will take part for its 9th time. A loyalty which allowed him to win 3 times,
including last year with the Himalayas specialist Christophe Moulin.
An evening of debates with distinguish guests
On
Tuesday January 30th will be organized a debate named: "Great exploits... Instructions". For this occasion, in addition to
the Trophy's participants, of which Franck Cammas, Les Saisies Ski Resort will also invite champions such as Luc Alphand and
Carole Montillet.
