Groupama 3 crossed the longitude of Cape Leeuwin at 0951 UT this Thursday. In so doing Franck Cammas and his nine crew have established a new reference time between Ushant and the SW tip of Australia, of 21 days 2 hours. They have improved on the time set by Bruno Peyron and his men in 2005 by 11 hours 6 minutes.

However, the difficult conditions encountered by the maxi trimaran since her passage of the Cape of Good Hope, early afternoon on 6th February, has not enabled the crew of Groupama 3 to add the reference time between the two capes to their list of achievements.
