Day-to-day on the round the world
Franck Cammas and his nine crew are the seventh team to win the Jules Verne Trophy which began in 1993! However, Groupama
3's circumnavigation of the globe in 48 days 07 hours 44 minutes 52 seconds was very distinctive in that she was only able
to make headway in fits and starts and didn't really open up an extensive lead until after she'd crossed the equator a second
time, 2,500 miles from the finish!

Beyond the horizon
For a very long time, the learned Greeks declared that the Earth was round and even its dimensions were predicted with a great
deal of accuracy. However, nobody dared venture into the open ocean and go beyond the horizon to open a route towards the
riches of Asia...

The archipelago of contrasts
Known for its anticyclone which manages Europe's summer climate, as well as being the main weather system in negotiating the
first and last section of a circumnavigation of the globe, the Azores archipelago is a paradise which is rarely frequented,
with the exception of sailors who make a stopover there on the way back from the Caribbean. And yet, this confetti of volcanic
islands plays host to an incredible tapestry of lakes, flowers, hot springs, botanical gardens, monumental cathedrals and
secular traditions...
