Groupama 3 passes to green

Jules Verne Trophy
With the window having been closely scrutinized over the past few hours here we have the verdict: Groupama 3 is passing to green! The weather is finally providing an opening for Franck Cammas and his men, who will leave their Lorient base at around 1600 GMT this evening to make Ushant, the traditional start zone for the Jules Verne Trophy. According to the latest forecasts, the crew should cross the line tomorrow morning.

This code green symbolizes the beginning of a great adventure and sounds the final day on land for the ten men on Groupama 3. Since the confirmation of an imminent start, the shore crew has been busying itself with its final preparations: the fresh food finding its place aboard in the boxes of victuals and a final check-up being performed. The Kéroman submarine base is a hive of activity and the crew are arriving one by one. Lunch will reunite the ten sailors behind closed doors, prior to the final weather briefing and the press round-up for the start. Families, friends, journalists and teams from the Groupama trimarans will accompany the first tacks by the maxi-trimaran on their attack of this Jules Verne Trophy, prior to making for the start line...

Small reminder:
A press round-up is organised in the Salle des Défis (Bâtiment des Défis - Kéroman submarine base), from 1445 to 1515 GMT. It will be broadcast live on the site www.cammas-groupama.com.

To come and wave off Groupama 3 from the pontoon, meet at the Kéroman submarine base from 1500 hours GMT...
