"Together with my team, I define, optimise and maintain one of the key parts of the boat: the rig. We tested various systems over the course of the season with the training boat, Groupama 70, before incorporating them in Groupama 4. All this research was carried out in collaboration with the sailors, the research office, the shore team and the suppliers: this teamwork is geared towards the constant optimisation of the boat."

"For the design of Groupama 4's masts we called upon the services of specialists from various and complementary horizons (Volvo, America's Cup, Imoca and multihull class) having agreed to share their knowledge with us. Scott Fergusson, the designer of Telefonica Blue who, according to our studies had designed the most high performance mast during the last edition, and Denis Glehen from HDS, form part of our team. This association, the considerations of the sailors, the rational analysis from Franck and the input from our various suppliers, enable us to get a very different result to that of our adversaries".
